Bridal Lingerie & Longline Bras

We are getting quite a few desperate pleas from brides at the moment as their big day looms and they are finding underwear a bit of a challenge, so here are a few tips that I hope you will find useful in preparation for the ‘big day.’
Firstly you need to make sure that whatever you are wearing is comfortable as you will be spending a lot of time having your photograph taken and you want to be smiling on your photographs not grimacing due to tight underwear.

Many brides diet before their wedding day so the size of the underwear chosen may fluctuate both with dieting or with the nervous tension/ stress of organising the big day so make sure that you keep an eye on your measurements – if you are not sure what size you are click here to be taken to our measuring guide, and do check on a regular basis particularly when you are at the dress fitting stage.

When choosing a longline bra brides have been known to buy a size smaller than they normally wear hoping that by ‘squeezing’ into this they will fit into their dress – this really is not a good idea and will make you so uncomfortable that it will detract from the enjoyment of the wedding.

You also need to look at your body shape critically when purchasing a longline bra as the sizing relates to the back size only and not the upper torso so you may find that you need to go up a back size, please do not worry about going up a back size in longline bras this is common for many of our customers.
Longline bras or basques give a lovely streamlined silhouette and is a very popular choice for brides, they often have some boning in to give this effect so make sure that you can walk, sit and dance comfortably in it too.

If you are marrying in a hot country it may be an idea to try a bra and briefs instead of a longline bra or basque – what may be comfortable in this country may not be so when it is 90 degrees.
