Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This month is breast cancer awareness month.

It is important to be breast aware, so I have been on the Cancer Research UK website to find out exactly what they recommend us ladies should be doing

"Cancer Research UK encourages women to be breast aware and follow the five point code:

* Know what is normal for you
* Look at and feel your breasts
* Know what changes to look for
* Report any changes without delay
* Go for breast screening if you are 50 or over.

It's a good idea for women to get to know how their breasts normally look and feel. This will make it easier to spot any unusual changes that could be signs of cancer and get checked out by a doctor.

Changes to look out for:

* Changes in the size, shape or feel of your breasts
* A new lump or thickening in one breast or armpit
* Any puckering, dimpling or redness of the skin
* Changes in the position of the nipple, a rash or nipple discharge
* Pain or discomfort that is new to you and felt only on one side."

It is important to know your breasts and to regularly check yourself, so don't forget to check yourself regularly.
